Introducing Barnacle (and yes she's a girl)
March 21, 2016
Well I havent done very well blogging have I?! The last post was the beginning of December. I must try harder! So I am going to begin with our new dog lodge dog Barnacle the Border Collie.
Here she is, yes thats right she's a girl, called Barnacle, Barney for short. We have already had lots of comments already saying 'a girl? called Barney?!' and I know we are going to spend the rest of her life saying she's a girl! But from the moment Morgan our little boy wanted a border collie, she was going to be called Barnacle. So here she is.
Barney is a good little girl and at 16 weeks has settled in very well with our other dog lodge dogs (though she loves Poppy the best who clearly acts as mummy). She has become accomstomed already to the constant change of visiting dogs and people. In fact we would say that that currently is the best part of her life! She loves having all these lovely new play mates and cant help herself but make a fuss of the many people who bring their furbabies.
Yesterday we had a family trip to the beach. It was a beautiful day; the sun was shining and the sky was blue! It wasnt even that cold either, though we were prepared for it being bitter and windy, but it was neither. There were lots of people on the beach so lots of distractions, but Barnacle was very good and stayed with us and the other dogs. Her and Willow's favourite time on the beach was running around the sand dunes with the children.
Barnacle, as we expected, is a challenge. She is a very head strong and bright dog, but she is learning a lot and discovering so many new things. Life is good for Barnacle at the Dog Lodge.
